Sometimes the smallest and easiest photoshop actions are the most satisfying and can save you lots of time. One of my favorites, is a small action that open a grid layout for my designs.

So here we go.

The Steps

1. Open photoshop and goto Window ->Actions
2. Then click on the new folder tab and name your folder grid/layout
3. Now add a new action file and give it a name.
4. From here it is a matter of recording your action.
5. Click the record button.
6. Goto open and navigate to the file which has your grid or layout structure.
7. Then press OK.
8. You can add some extra functionality by add layers and folder you often use in your designs.
9. Once you have got your page setup done, click the stop recording button.

And your done.

These actions can be recorded for all the templates, grids and layout you use. Now when you open photoshop, you simply select the action you want to use and click play. It’s a great timesaver and easily fits into any workflow.
